We deliver engineered solutions that enhance operational awareness, safety, reliability and efficiency to deliver the lowest total cost of ownership.

Who We Want

We're looking for a Compliance Engineer to join our R&D team and lead the planning, execution and maintenance of product and regulatory compliance initiatives across the organization. This role is pivotal in driving our mission to support global decarbonization and digitization trends through advanced electric heating solutions.

This opportunity is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in product certification and familiarity with major nationally recognized testing laboratories. If you enjoy working as part of a small team to create and build advanced, customer focused solutions – this role will keep you engaged and inspired.

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Want to make a real impact on a small, empowered team.
  • Enjoy developing products and new technologies that solve real‑world problems and improve continuously through customer feedback.
  • Enjoy guiding products through certification processes, translating standards into practical design and testing requirements.
  • Are energized by navigating evolving regulatory landscapes and enabling market entry in rapidly growing industries.
  • Value driving projects from concept through testing, certification, and full commercial release while ensuring ongoing compliance.

What You'll Do

  • Manage end‑to‑end certification activities (CSA, UL, ETL) from planning through approval.
  • Coordinate testing with external laboratories and certification bodies, including scheduling, samples and test execution.
  • Ensure that products meet applicable domestic and international regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Guide compliance processes, managing audits, and producing technical documentation to support product certification.
  • Support troubleshooting during test failures and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with production and project management teams to schedule factory special inspections.
  • Maintain and organize certification documentation.
  • Support factory audits across all sites.
  • Follow up on audit findings and support closure of corrective actions.
  • Develop certification plans for new product development projects.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate potential impact to internal teams.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in certification, compliance and working with external test labs
  • Familiarity with CSA, UL, ETL, CE certification processes
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, risk assessment, and go/no‑go decision‑making.
  • Experience managing certification documentation (reports, certificates, declarations)
  • Strong ownership and ability to drive tasks independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive follow‑up mindset – ensures nothing is left pending.

Bonus Points For

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in new product development using a structured stage‑gate process from concept through commercialization.
  • Fundamental working knowledge of electric heating technology.
  • Professional Engineering certification.

Why You'll Love Working at Thermon

  • Team Impact: Small, agile team where your contributions matter.
  • Lab Environment: Enjoy access to a fully functional lab with state‑of‑the‑art tools and equipment.
  • Global Reach: Your work will power critical infrastructure around the world.
  • Collaborative Culture: Cross‑functional teams that value creativity, feedback, and growth.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Competitive salary, health coverage, RRSP with match, and more.
