You hold the power of the mountain in your hands, you are responsible for everyone enjoying their day on the ski hill. Some of the most important jobs take place when nobody is around to see the success. Our Plant Operators are a small group of highly motivated and dedicated people. This can be day or night during the weekend and holidays. You take pride in providing the best vacation and recreation experience possible.
Duties include running pumps, compressors, and snow guns; monitoring weather conditions and snow production; performing routine inspections and maintenance; troubleshooting equipment issues; and ensuring safe operation of all systems.
You will:
· Be completely familiar with the snowmaking plant function and operation.
· Observe and limit the electrical power consumption.
· Consult with the plant manager about any equipment problems.
· Assist snowmakers by rolling hoses and performing minor repairs on snowmaking equipment.
· Monitor and control the flow of air and water to the snow making process.
· Act as a control center for the snow making department, ensuring that a communication link is being maintained with the on-hill crew for the purposes of production and safety.
· Be familiar with and adhere to company health and safety policy and emergency response plans.
You:
· Must have a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well independently.
· Have strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy & efficiency in operation.
· Demonstrate computer knowledge and mechanical aptitude - an asset.
· Must be able to work flexible, extended shifts, including weekends and holidays.
