What will your typical day look like?

As an Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for leading and executing internal audit projects, within a team, at various organizations, including identifying risks and assessing the effectiveness of governance, controls and processes. This will include using established tools and methodologies to develop risk-based audit plans, collect and analyze data, working with subject matter experts, documenting results and writing reports for Management and Audit Committees. Internal audits are conducted in a wide range of organizations and also include advisory work and other assessments.

They will require you to use skill sets such as: conducting client interviews; assessing business processes; leading and teaching teams and mentoring junior staff; co-facilitating workshops; synthesizing and communicating complex ideas; developing value-added recommendations; assisting with risk mitigation strategies; and, using your business savviness and verbal skills to build trust and creditability with your client base.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone who has

  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain/or has already obtained Government of Canada Security Clearance (5+ years of residency in Canada).
  • 2 to 5 years experience in an internal audit function or professional service firm providing internal audit services
  • Experience including Internal Audit, Operational Audits, Internal audit planning and scoping, ICFR, IT Controls, and risk assessment
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems and IT controls is an asset including a related designation such as CISA or CISSP
  • Strong knowledge of business operations and key processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Experience with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, and team leadership
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PPT
  • Canadian travel may occasionally be required

Qualifications considered as an asset:

  • Accounting or internal audit designation (CPA or CIA) is preferred
  • Ability to work in both official languages
  • Experience conducting risk-based internal audits and providing strategic advice
  • Experience in data analytics and data visualization

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $62,000 - $106,000 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
