Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer – Airport Infrastructures for a full-time position. Reporting to the Airport department manager, the selected candidate will work on civil engineering projects related to airports primarily in Québec but also across Canada. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will have the opportunity to participate in diverse projects that support your continued professional development.

The position can be based out of any of our office locations and is available in a hybrid work format, offering flexibility to accommodate personal circumstances and geographic location.

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing airport-related projects
  • Performing engineering analyses, assessments, and studies
  • Designing (calculations and sizing) planned infrastructure
  • Supervising and/or preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates according to client standards
  • Coordinating projects with other disciplines
  • Evaluating and verifying the feasibility of the work
  • Participating in meetings and presenting key issues and proposed solutions
  • Providing design support, reviewing shop drawings, and attending construction meetings during project execution
  • Monitoring budgets and schedules
  • Occasionally writing service proposals
  • Supervising engineer-in-training candidates, intermediate engineers, and technicians

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
  • 6 years of experience in airport engineering projects
  • Ability to communicate in French
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada’s TP312 and ICAO standards
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or ability to obtain it in a short time frame

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in airport engineering projects
  • Bilingual English/French, written & spoken
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Completion of the General Health and Safety on Construction Sites (ASP) course
  • Knowledge of pavement design and hydraulic modeling software
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to various airports in Quebec and across Canada
  • Experience in airport infrastructure such as pavement design, airside planning, geotechnical investigation, and surface characterization
  • Experience with clients such as Transportation Canada, PSPC (Public Services and Procurement Canada), ADM (Montréal Airports), Pearson Airport etc.
  • Interest in BIM and GIS project environments
