CORPORATE SOCIAL MEDIA OPERATIONS INTERN

TORONTO, ON

We’re COTY, a global leader in beauty. We believe in beauty with a purpose and brands that inspire, no matter where they are in the world.

Coty's corporate and executive social media team is lean, which means it moves fast and every decision matters. We're looking for an operations intern who can own real responsibility, think like an operator, and support the high-visibility presence that keeps everything running.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You'll work with the director of social media on day-to-day execution, manage the details that determine whether content lands well, performs well, and shows up exactly as intended. Your work will contribute to how Coty talks to its consumers and future employees.

Your main focus:

  • Content publishing & calendar management: source, adapt, schedule, and publish across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X. You support content publishing and scheduling decisions in collaboration with the director of social media.
  • Brand voice quality control: every post that goes live passes through your eye. You catch grammar, voice misalignment, brand hierarchy problems before they're public.
  • Analytics & reporting: prepare monthly performance summaries highlighting key trends, insights, and areas of impact.
  • AI integration & optimization: We use AI heavily for drafting, editing, analytics synthesis, content adaptation. You'll understand when to leverage AI for speed and when human judgment must lead, developing judgment on when to use AI for speed and when human review and editing are required.
  • Crisis monitoring: “monitor social channels for emerging issues and flag potential risks with context and speed.
  • Community management triage: monitor incoming comments, understanding what matters and what's noise, and routing the important stuff to leadership with context.
  • Executive content support: assist with the executive thought leadership workflow; gathering input, supporting edits, managing images.
  • You’ll work closely with and receive guidance from the director of social media, who maintains approval on content and strategic decisions.

Working for Coty means
our people make us who we are. They are the brightest minds bringing innovative concepts to life. If you’re someone unwilling to settle, likes to envision larger possibilities, accelerate learning, and push boundaries – we’d love to hear from you! Working at Coty means being part of an inclusive workplace committed to diversity and equity, valuing diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Your ideas will count, fostering a career where you can achieve more than you ever imagined.

QUALIFICATIONS

You understand that corporate social media is reputational infrastructure, not a just a creative channel. You know that a single misstep can affect how millions of people perceive a company. You're someone who thinks like an operator about risk, messaging, and governance. You spot patterns others miss because you understand why those patterns matter. You have a voice in your writing, but you're never just chasing engagement. You think in data because numbers tell you whether you're moving the needle. You notice when something is off (e.g., grammar, tone, positioning, brand alignment) and are able to quickly fix it before it goes live.

We’d love to see candidates who have:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business/Marketing/Econ/Communications, or related field).
  • Platform literacy: you've spent real time on LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, X, and Facebook and understand how they work and what audiences expect.
  • Editorial eye: you can catch what's off before it goes live (e.g., grammar, tone, consistency, brand voice.)
  • Written clarity: you can explain complex things simply and succinctly.
  • MS Office proficiency: (especially PowerPoint & Excel).
  • English language proficiency: native or near-native fluency required for high-stakes, public-facing content. You can identify and correct tone shifts, unintended meanings, and language that doesn’t land before publication.
  • Nice to have: French language skills.

Bonus:

  • Experience with social management tools (Sprinklr, Meta Ads Manager).
  • Paid social campaign experience.
  • Background in beauty, fashion, or consumer brands.
  • Aesthetic sensibility and eye for creative trends and what resonates.
  • Strong time management & prioritization skills.
  • Strong initiative and entrepreneurial spirit.

OUR BENEFITS

As Our Corporate Social Media Operations Intern, this is a unique role with a genuine opportunity to make an impact. You’ll get to work in a diverse environment with a team of professionals who are passionate about the work they do and know how to have some fun along the way.

Coty’s global omni-working policy provides the option to work up to 50% of your month remotely. We believe that a more flexible philosophy of remote working will give everyone the freedom to choose what works for their individual circumstances and empower them to always perform at their best.
