Description de posteJob Description VP, Investor Relations Role Summary As the Vice President of Investor Relations for Sun Life, the incumbent contributes significantly to the relationship with Sun Life investors and analyst community. This role reports to the EVP, Chief Financial Officer and leads a small team. The Investor Relations team is a strategic function responsible for developing and executing Sun Life’s communication strategy with institutional investors, sell‑side analysts, and managing relationships with equity investors. The team collaborates across Sun Life’s global organization to highlight business insights and successes to the investor community, offering exposure to various Business Groups, senior executives and external stakeholders.
Accountabilities
Lead the development and execution of Sun Life’s investor communication strategy, including preparation for quarterly financial results, investor day meetings, conferences, road shows, education seminars, and ongoing interactions with senior executives and the investment community.
Partner with Communications, Marketing, Legal, Capital and Corporate Development on all financial press releases.
Create the Sun Life pitch for existing and potential investors, ensuring content, language and tone reflect Sun Life strategies, priorities and brand.
Monitor and assess market perception and rating trends, proactively addressing gaps and maintaining a robust competitive intelligence program.
Oversee the development of the Investor Relations marketing and targeting plan focused on recruiting new long‑term institutional investors for equity and debt investments.
Monitor and consolidate investor feedback, capital market trends and global regulatory developments, reviewing and analyzing company, competitor and industry equity research.
Interpret and share insights from the investment community with senior management.
Work closely with internal partners to ensure consistency in messaging.
Develop and monitor performance metrics for the investor relations function.
Experience and competencies
10+ years as an executive with increasing responsibilities.
Strong stakeholder influence and impact.
Strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, curiosity, and experience with financial markets.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey strategy and vision internally and externally.
Deep financial acumen.
Proven record of delivering results in a complex environment.
Experience leading direct and virtual teams, inspiring people and connecting them to a vision.
Skilled at building alignment and partnerships within functions and across divisions.
Global perspective, strong grasp of the complex operating environment.

Salary Range:
195,000 - 270,000
