As a Data Governance Reporting Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the development, maintenance, and reporting of enterprise data governance metrics, controls, and compliance activities. You'll align these efforts with regulatory requirements and risk reporting mandates, including OSFI Guidelines E-21 (Operational Resilience) and E-23 (Model Risk Management). This position is within the Enterprise Data Governance Office, under the direction of the AVP, EDGO.
What will you do?
Develop and maintain data governance reports and dashboards tracking data quality, metadata, lineage, and compliance metricsProduce performance summaries for Critical Data Elements (CDEs)Prepare regulatory and internal reports demonstrating compliance with initiatives like OSFI E-21 and E-23Coordinate data submissions and evidence gathering for audits and reviewsMaintain a centralized data quality and issue management logCollaborate with data stewards and owners to validate data quality resultsContribute to data ownership mapping and CDE Register maintenanceAssist in maintaining data lineage documentationSupport data governance reporting requirements for OSFI E-21Prepare risk-based reporting on data governance KRIs and KPIsWork with Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure data meets governance standardsUse data governance and reporting tools to manage and visualize metricsSupport automation of data quality and governance reportsIdentify opportunities to streamline governance reportingParticipate in testing and rollout of new data governance technologiesWhat do you need to succeed?
3-5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, risk reporting, or regulatory data management in financial servicesWorking knowledge of OSFI regulatory frameworks, particularly E-21 and E-23Experience with data reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel) and data governance platformsStrong data analysis, visualization, and reporting capabilitiesAdvanced Excel programming and VBA coding skillsFamiliarity with SQL or other data querying tools (asset)Strong understanding of data quality metrics and controlsExcellent attention to detail and documentation disciplineEffective communication skills for non-technical audiencesAbility to manage multiple reporting deadlines and regulatory deliverablesAnalytical thinking and problem-solving skillsData stewardship mindsetRegulatory awareness and risk sensitivityBachelor’s degree in data science, information management, business, finance, or related fieldStrong communication and collaboration skillsAccountability and continuous improvement focusRelevant certifications such as DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP) are considered assets.
