Warehouse Material Handler

Overview

Safety-Kleen in Oshawa, ON is seeking a Material Handler to join their safety-conscious team. The primary responsibilities include handling and assisting in organizing hazardous materials, inventory, as well as shipping and receiving responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
• Locate and transfer part shortages within the plant as required for completion of assemblies.
• Load and unload route trucks with supplies and equipment for the next day’s runs.
• Verify and maintain stock records, shortage reports and other documentation; assist with inventory counts.
• Utilize small hand tools and operate material handling equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks where required.
• Complete administrative duties such as labeling, printing, and organizing route sheets.
• Perform other warehouse duties and procedures as required.
• Handle shipping and receiving responsibilities.
• Assist with packaging, segregation, and handling of hazardous waste.
• Lift boxes, move drums with a drum dolly, and move pallets and materials.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a warehouse environment.
• Forklift operating experience is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of hazardous material handling, disposal and regulatory requirements is a strong asset.
• Ability to take on responsibilities, be a self-starter, and work on their own.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Familiarity with computer software such as Microsoft Office.
• G License required with reliable transportation.
