This role is accountable for building new relationships and deepening existing customer relationships for both credit and non-credit products/services. The Relationship Manager will develop a shadow portfolio of target businesses commensurate with the market and their existing portfolio. Works closely with internal and external subject matter experts and/or lending advisory groups.CUSTOMERContinually deliver exceptional customer service at every interaction and execute on plans to continuously improve the customer experienceLead all aspects of relationship management for an assigned portfolioAct as a confident business banker expected to meet the needs of customers by providing creative products/solutionsActively use sales platforms to build a robust understanding of our customers/target needs, industries, and marketsUnderstand customer's operating environment, structure unique financing, cash management and overall business needs to add value to the customerPossess and constantly build deep expert knowledge of the market, customers, and broader economic factorsDevelop and maintain centre of influence strategies and relationshipsIdentify customer/prospect referral opportunities to internal Bank partners that meet customer needsEnhance TDBG brand by participating in networking eventsSHAREHOLDERDevelop / implement sales strategies to proactively attract, acquire and retain customers / business development opportunities and referrals, to increase profitability and enable business growth, in line with risk profile of the customerBuild new relationships and deepen existing customer relationships by consistently following the Business Banking Relationship Methodology (BBRM).Promote and offer full suite of products, sales, services and banking capabilitiesMeet or exceed business targetsNegotiate to maximize profitability of relationships with existing customers based on the customer risk profile.Contribute to credit applications with a high quality of risk assessment, credit structure, due diligence, and credit presentationOversee the management of accounts to ensure they are appropriately monitored and remain within guidelines and assigned limits.Understand the market and the industries within the portfolio to ensure value added service is provided to clients while mitigating risk to the BankActively refer to other business partners both within Business Banking and across TDBG and respond effectively to reciprocal referralsProtect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessaryEnsure compliance with regulatory and operational risk requirementsAssume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of ConductDevelop a productive relationship with external partners as means to identify new business opportunitiesEMPLOYEE / TEAMParticipate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issuesProvide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for own area of expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unitKeep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniquesParticipate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own teamKeep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activitiesProvide mentorship by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practicesLead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.Contribute to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforceAct as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externallyBREADTH & DEPTHExpert level professional role primarily accountable for origination of new customer business and relationship management for the Commercial Business segmentManages a portfolio in line with the business sales model characterized by moderate to high cash management, deposit and credit complexity requirementsInterpret and analyze customer financial statements with deep expert level credit acumenIdentifies referral opportunities across business lines and segmentsAnticipates, identifies and interprets market trends, and applies this knowledge to serve the needs of the customersSolves problems of moderate to high complexity and recommend new product and service solutionsPossesses an expert level knowledge of products, sales, services, credit management practices and processes, methods and operating standards to drive business performanceWorks autonomously as the 'lead' and coaches and guides members within area of expertiseExecutes and may support others in complex account management processes – structures customized solutions and adviceGuides and influences customers and stakeholders;
