Volta is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Operations Coordinator to support the day-to day experience of our space, community, and event support. This role is focused on operations and front desk coordination ensuring a seamless, positive experience for resident companies, members, guests, and partners. You’ll also lend a hand with events as needed, helping bring our community to life. Role Focus & Scheduling This role is primarily focused on day-to-day on site operations and member support, with occasional involvement in event execution. Regular hours will typically fall within standard business operations (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), with some flexibility required to support events outside of these hours. Scheduling will be adjusted as needed to ensure a consistent 40-hour work week. Operations & Front Desk Support - Manage daily opening and closing procedures for the Volta space - Serve as the primary front desk contact, creating a welcoming and professional first impression for members, guests, and visitors - Support Volta members, startups, and community partners with day-to-day inquiries and requests - Coordinate office space management, including preparing office agreements/contracts and supporting the onboarding of new office tenants - Maintain accurate records related to office occupancy, renewals, and availability - Monitor and manage office and workspace inventory (supplies, equipment, shared resources), ensuring spaces are well-stocked and functional - Conduct tours for prospective members, partners, and office tenants - Oversee general workspace upkeep, including room setups, cleanliness, and basic troubleshooting, escalating issues when needed - Assist the Startup Success team with administrative and operational tasks - Help maintain a positive and community-focused environment Event Support - Assist with event setup, coordination, and teardown - Provide on-site support during events to ensure a smooth experience - Help with basic logistics such as room preparation and attendee support You’re a Great Fit If You: - Enjoy creating a welcoming, organized, and well-run environment - Are proactive, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities - Get satisfaction from finishing things — closing out a checklist, knowing every room is reset, ending the day with nothing left hanging - Are comfortable with light physical tasks (e.g., moving furniture for space setup or events) - Find genuine energy in helping others succeed—whether it’s ensuring members have what they need, guests feel welcome, or the Startup Success team is supported proactively - Are excited to contribute to the startup and innovation driven ecosystem - Take pride in delivering consistent, high-quality work and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations Perks - Work in a dynamic environment surrounded by innovators and entrepreneurs - Access to snacks, coffee, and tea - Medical plan - Paid vacation About Volta Volta is Atlantic Canada’s AI-first startup hub, built by founders, for founders.
