FactoryFix helps manufacturers and staffing firms recruit skilled trades workers. We operate a large network of skilled trades candidates, and we use that data to help industrial companies find, engage, screen, and hire the right people faster.
Our AI recruiters build on that foundation. They distribute jobs, match candidates, run outreach, screen applicants, score fit, and sync hiring context back to customer systems. The work spans search, data quality, AI workflows, messaging, reliability, integrations, and the feedback loops that make the whole system smarter over time.
We are not trying to build another HR platform. We are focused on one hard problem: helping industrial companies get more qualified candidates more reliably.
The role
We are looking for an engineer with strong judgment, high standards, and a bias to ship. This is a senior IC role for someone who can take ambiguous problems, find the simple version, and get it into production quickly and reliably. You will work across product, backend systems, data, and AI workflows.
Part of the job is classic product engineering. You should be comfortable with the kind of stack we use: TypeScript, Node services, modern web development, GCP, and data-heavy systems. You do not need to match it exactly, but you should be able to get productive fast. We are looking for someone who has shipped meaningful production software, made good technical decisions, gone deep when needed, and avoided complexity when it was not worth it.
Part of the job is helping us get more leverage from AI so we can move faster with less chaos. We think engineering is shifting toward managing teams of agents. We want engineers spending more of their time building the systems, skills, processes, and feedback loops that let AI agents take a project from high-level pitch to shipped value, and less time hand-coding everything themselves.
We are not all the way there. But we have changed how we work to make that transition real instead of theatrical. We're currently five engineers, all of them using agents most of the day, every day. We want a sixth who is excited to push that frontier with us.
You will do well here if you:
- Can shape ambiguous projects
- Write before things are polished
- Refuse to walk past a clunky internal tool
- Believe Codex and Claude Code are changing what engineering work looks like
- Do not think any task is beneath you
You will not do well here if you:
- Need a clean spec
- Want to hash everything out in a meeting
- Get anxious when messy drafts are visible to the CEO
- Take pride in artisanal coding
Why this role
We're a small team, the product is working, and the ambition is high. The right person will have a lot of room to shape what we build, how we build it, and what great AI-driven engineering looks like in practice.
If this sounds like the kind of environment where you'd do your best work, we should talk.
