Position Overview
Reporting to the Materials Management Team Leader, the incumbent provides day to day transportation services to patients, staff and supplies throughout the Centre.
Beyond day to day transportation services, the incumbent holds the responsibility for the movement of supplies and staff with/without patients on and off site, maintain/clean vehicles, collect monthly mileage/oil change/sharps reports, logs appointments, collect linen/garbage/recycling bags, move/transport furniture, supplies, boxes, equipment, wheelchairs.
Experience
- Transportation of goods and materials handling.
- Transportation of vulnerable people.
- Experience coordinating schedules and conflicting priorities.
- Supervising staff is an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Completion of high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training is an asset.
- Supervisory training is considered an asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Driver's license Class IV or higher and bus training is required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team is essential.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to prioritize daily work/competing deadlines.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance.
Physical Requirements
- Physically capable of manual labour (heavy and intensive at all times).
- Required to work weekend shifts and holidays.
