ResponsibilitiesMaintain safe operations at all times and follow company QHSE standards and practices
Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, specifications, and machining parameters
Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances
Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensations, and conditional switches
Calculate machining requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting 3-jaw and 4-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers
Load machines by lifting stock into position
Verify settings by measuring first-run parts and sample work pieces
Deburr final machined pieces as needed
Observe machine operations, detect malfunctions, and troubleshoot processes
Complete production and quality logs, including quality forms and daily product sheets
Operate lifting devices such as overhead cranes
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Assist with preventative maintenance on machinery
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as directed by management
QualificationsMinimum 3 years of machinist experience
2–3 years of CNC mill and/or lathe setup experience
Knowledge of Okuma G-Code and Fanuc operational systems
CNC certificate is considered an asset
CNC programming experience is considered an asset
Strong knowledge of machine tooling
Knowledge of ISO and API is considered an asset
Ability to accurately interpret work orders, sketches, blueprints, and verbal instructions
Strong knowledge of measuring tools, including calipers, OD/ID micrometers, height gauges, thread wires, and thread gauges
Ability to troubleshoot, detect abnormal running conditions, and maintain high-quality standards
Able to lift and move materials up to 30–50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Steel-toed safety boots required
