Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Canadian lawyer with a strong background in trademark prosecution, opposition, and litigation to represent and advise Thinkof before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), the Trademarks Opposition Board (TMOB), and the Federal Court of Canada. This role requires strategic thinking, strong writing skills, and the ability to develop a winning approach against large, established brands.
Key Responsibilities
Represent Thinkof in CIPO trademark opposition, expungement, and Federal Court litigation matters
Develop and execute legal strategies to protect the Thinkof brand across Canadian jurisdictions
Conduct legal research and draft motions, statements of opposition, counter-statements, evidence, and written arguments
Advise on Nice Classification, brand expansion, and goods/services coverage under the Trademarks Act
Manage trademark filings, renewals, and Madrid Protocol designations into Canada where applicable
Collaborate with leadership on long-term IP strategy, including coordination with U.S. and international counsel
