About our Client
Our client, a leading distributor in the industrial pipes, valves, and fittings industry, is currently seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join their Delta, BC branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing sales within Delta and the surrounding areas by developing new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
This role is ideal for a candidate with experience in industrial sales, mechanical products, pipe and fittings, fire protection, or plumbing industries. Graduates from a Mechanical Engineering program with relevant industry exposure are strongly encouraged to apply.
Salary Range - $63,500 - $69,500
Responsibilities
- Receive and process customer sales orders via phone, email, and sales representatives
- Enter order details accurately into the system for order picking and purchasing purposes
- Prepare quotations, product specifications, and delivery information
- Coordinate deliveries and follow up with customers regarding orders and shipments
- Resolve customer concerns by liaising with sales, warehouse, accounting, and purchasing departments
- Promote complementary and substitute products to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective customers
- Follow up on direct shipments and returned materials
- Remain current on company products, services, and industry knowledge
- Participate in training programs, inventory counts, and trade shows as required
- Generate reports and complete administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, sales, or warehouse operations within a related industry
- Background knowledge in mechanical/industrial pipe and fittings, fire protection, and/or plumbing preferred
- Mechanical Engineering graduates with relevant experience are preferred
- Strong business development and customer relationship management skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to understand and communicate technical product information
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications
- Good mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
