SAP Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) Lead

Our Ontario based client is seeking an experienced SAP Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) Lead to join their project immediately and will run for 1 year, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have extensive proven experience as a lead on S/4HANA implementations, with finance capabilities across a complex utilities environment. They should drive solution design, configuration, and integration across finance modules including, but not limited to: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP) / Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Controlling (CO). This will be a hybrid role with the exact amount of on-site scheduled days to be confirmed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the SAP Finance (FI/CO) workstream within an S/4HANA transformation program.
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Provide leadership in design workshops, fit-gap analysis, and solution architecture.
• Ensure alignment with utility industry regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
• Oversee data migration, testing cycles (SIT/UAT), and deployment activities.
• Manage and mentor a team of SAP functional consultants.
• Identify risks and proactively drive issue resolution and mitigation strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with senior business stakeholders and executives.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Strong communication skills across both technical and business audiences.
• Proven track record delivering complex SAP Finance transformations on time and budget.
• CPA or equivalent financial certification is preferred.
• Experience working within utilities, energy, or regulated industries (highly preferred).
