As the Manager of Maintenance, you will provide strategic and tactical leadership for both mechanical and electrical maintenance teams within a complex steelmaking operation. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Flexibility required for shutdowns and emergency breakdowns).

ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities, providing direction to supervisors, planners, engineers, and trades personnel.
- Asset Reliability: Drive preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and extend asset life cycles.
- Operational Integration: Coordinate closely with production teams to execute maintenance work with minimal disruption to output.
- Shutdown Management: Lead major outages and shutdowns, managing everything from scope development to resource planning and execution oversight.
- Financial Accountability: Develop and manage maintenance budgets (labor, materials, and contracted services) while ensuring cost-effective execution.
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize CMMS data and KPIs (downtime, reliability, and schedule compliance) to drive informed decision-making and process improvements.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce rigorous safety standards and company policies, leading incident investigations and ensuring sustainable corrective actions.
QualificationsQualifications & Experience
- Education: Engineering Degree, Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), or a Red Seal Journeyperson designation (Millwright or Electrician).
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in a maintenance department within a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Labor Relations: Proven experience leading and managing teams within a unionized environment is essential.
- Technical Assets: Professional certifications such as CRMP or MMP are highly preferred. Experience with overhead cranes and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is a significant asset.
- Soft Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Office, exceptional time management, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Requirements: Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a criminal record check.
