Job Summary :
To maintain the integrity of the CSA registered Mark by conducting factory inspections and safeguarding ongoing conformity of products bearing the CSA Mark.
Responsibilities :
Conduct factory inspections at CSA authorized factories. Select representative product samples to audit; determine if sample complies with all applicable standards and Certification report;
review quality control and testing documentation.
Prepare Factory Inspection Reports (FIR), Initial Factory Evaluation (IFE) reports, and consumer product evaluation reports to document inspection findings per procedures and work instructions.
Review previous FIRs to determine if previous deviations have been corrected. With supervision, determine satisfactory corrective action and time frame to implement the changes;
determine if non-compliance merits stop shipments, re-investigation or removal of CSA mark and take appropriate action.
Maintain contact with clients by following up, providing information, and responding to inquiries. Keep current on new services available and communicate these to clients as necessary and assist clients with making changes to their records (address, company name, etc.) with CSA.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 0 years of experience; or related Sciences with 1-2 years of industry related experience;
or Engineering Technology or Associates Degree, with 2-3 years experience; or Licensed Journeyman Discipline; or related technical field with 5-7 years experience.
Strong interpersonal skills; self-starter; good decision-making skills and organizational skills.
Strong conflict resolution skills to be able to handle difficult situations.
With assistance, able to read and interpret engineering drawings and test data as required to complete assigned duties.
Computer skills (word processing, e-mail).
Usage of calibrated measurement instruments, high voltage test equipment, hand tools.
Ability to manage multiple inspection files and changing schedules and deadlines with supervision.
Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, as well as general laboratory procedures as they relate to performing factory inspections.
