Legal Administration Assistant – Edmonton

MetCredit is now taking applications for a full time Legal Administrative Assistant for our downtown Edmonton office. We are the leading debt recovery agency in Canada with office locations in Vancouver, Edmonton, Mississauga, and Montréal.

The Legal Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:

• Notices of claims
• Preparing legal documents
• File appropriate court documents with the courts
• Communicating with vendors and clients
• Asset searches

The successful applicant should possess the following qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail
• Detail-oriented
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to deal with sensitive and difficult client situations in a gracious and professional manner
• Apply critical thinking skills to make independent judgments about prioritization of tasks in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic understanding of legal procedures
• Working knowledge of legal documents such as wills, trust deeds and power of attorney
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to follow company rules & policies
• Positive and energetic attitude
• Passion for working with and helping people
• Able to commit to full-time fixed work schedule
• Comply with industry provincial and federal legislation
• Experience with third-party collections, legal collections, financial services, sales, legal administration, and call centers is an asset
