Position Summary

We are looking for an Anesthesia Assistant (AA) – a Registered Respiratory Therapist or a Registered Nurse who holds a Certified Clinical Anesthesia Assistant Certification from a Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapy (CSRT) accredited school. The AA works in collaboration and under the supervision of an anesthesiologist to provide anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Responsibilities include monitoring stable anesthetized patients under the direction of the anesthesiologist, ensuring patient safety and comfort before, during, and after surgery, assisting in administering anesthesia, monitoring vital signs, and evaluating patients’ cardiorespiratory conditions. The AA is a collaborative team member, working alongside the nursing team to meet the needs of patients under the care of an anesthesiologist.

Mandatory Qualifications

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
