The City of Abbotsford’s Recreation & Culture division is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated professional with proven leadership, community development and programming skills to join their dynamic team as an auxiliary Recreation Programmer to support arts and culture programming.
In this exciting role you will work with a variety of City staff and external culture and community organizations to plan and create cultural programming opportunities in alignment with the City’s Culture Connect Strategy. You are a creative and critical thinker, with an understanding of the importance of collaboration, supporting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in programming, and community engagement through arts and culture.
An ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with non-profit community organizations, advisory boards, and other partner organizations is essential for success in this position. An understanding of culture service delivery in a municipal government setting is desired.
Your excellent communication, organizational, administrative and critical thinking skills and abilities, combined with a strong commitment to customer service excellence will guide your success in this position.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local , and the hourly rate of pay is from $34.54to $40.61 per hour. This is a five-month position offering 2-3 days per week. Some evenings and weekends may be required to support programming.
