About the role:

Join a collaborative, in-house legal team where your skills and expertise will directly impact business outcomes and support the growth of a rapidly growing Canadian financial institution.

We are searching for a Senior Law Clerk to join our Legal team and work closely with senior leadership and business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

This is an opportunity to move beyond a traditional in-house department or law firm and gain broader exposure, ownership, and work-life balance, while working on complex files and meaningful initiatives.

What you'll do:

• Work closely with the Corporate Secretary and the Board of Directors on managing all aspects of the Board governance, Board meeting management and administration;
• Manage corporate and regulatory filings, both Provincial and Federal;
• Support on corporate and legal matters as needed, including minute books, legal notices and responding to regulatory inquiries; and
• Other special projects and responsibilities that may arise from time to time.

What we’re looking for:

• Law Clerk certification or Paralegal Diploma with requisite experience;
• 8+ years of experience in an in-house legal department or a combination of a law firm and in-house legal department;
• Experience working in banking and financial institutions or other similarly regulated industries;
• Proficient in SharePoint document management, Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
• Proficient in Diligent Board Books or other board governance management system;
• Excellent verbal communicator and strong drafting and written communication skills;
• Extremely well-organized, with the ability to work under pressure, and handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently;
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to work on confidential and/or sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion;
• Highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic self-starter.

What you can expect - pay & process:

• Expected base salary range is $90,000 -$110,000, plus the opportunity to earn an annual incentive bonus tied to performance.
