The Prince George Native Friendship Centre (PGNFC) delivers programs and services through a lens of reconciliation, as we have been doing since the inception of the PGNFC for the past 50+ years. A key component of this journey is ensuring the voices of each person is heard and included in our trauma informed and culturally dynamic approach; this perspective is critical to reconciliation. Full Time: 40 hrs / $35 hr to $38 hr
The PGNFC Crisis Response, Community-Led Team (CRCL) provides an alternative to the presence of police personnel at mental health crisis calls in Prince George. The teams offer crisis support services that integrate cultural safety protocols and holistic care options. Mobile teams comprise of a mental health professional and a peer (someone with lived or living experience) which are available during scheduled service hours under the supervision of a clinician and supervisor.
This program aims to reduce the harms experienced by people who have or are suffering a mental health crisis. The Mental Health Crisis Response Dispatch will incorporate knowledge and experiences in crisis assessment and intervention, de-escalation, harm reduction, suicide prevention, anti-oppressive practice, client-centred and recovery-oriented care, trauma-informed practice and culturally competent care to support individuals and families experiencing a crisis in Prince George.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants of Canadian Indigenous ancestry. We encourage all candidates to self-identify. Our process is protected by the BC Human Rights Tribunal under Non-Profit Exemption.
