Construction Office -L3 - Mica Creek

Overview:
The Construction Officer Level 3 acts as construction site coordinator and inspector on multiple or large civil, electrical, and/or mechanical projects to ensure the work, materials, progress, and cost meet Bthe company's expectations. Electrical journeyperson preferred. Other trades will be considered depending experience and skills

What you will be doing:

• Inspect construction work which may be on substations, transmission lines, and hydroelectric equipment by using excellent skills in inspection procedures and understanding of construction methods to meet deadlines and comply with building and safety codes.

• Ensure work site safety by prioritizing the safe execution of work and performing Safe Work Observations using excellent knowledge in safety standards and regulations to improve the company's safety performance.

• Conduct or coordinate site testing, surveying, and estimating activities by using good working knowledge of engineering drawings to enable timely progression of projects. The potential working conditions may include adverse weather and working at heights or underground.

• Support contract and/or work order administration by collaborating with contractors and/or the company's internal construction services to ensure that the work, materials, progress, and costs meet expectations so that projects are implemented as planned.

• Act as a subject matter expert by providing advice on complex technical issues to develop future capability at the company.

• Respond appropriately to internal and third-party construction inquiries by using excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to professionally represent the company on-site, as assigned.

What you must have:

• Diploma in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology from an Institute of Technology or relevant trades, apprenticeship courses, or equivalent – Electrical Journeyman

• Training in contract law

• Excellent working knowledge of safety standards and regulations such as Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards and WorkSafe Regulations

• Conflict Resolution: Skilled in managing interpersonal and contractual disputes constructively.

• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and empower teams to achieve high quality results.

• Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken

Salary Rate/Range: $61.00 -$75.00 per hour


Term: 12-month contract; most likely to extend

Other Information:

• Shift: 10 days on 4 days off. Other shifts may be available such as 4 on, 3 off, 5 on, 2 off, 8 on, 6 off, 14 on, 7 off. The shift will be as directed by the hiring manager.

• Travel: Travel time will not be payable.

• Kilometers for use of vehicle will be compensated.

• Provision of rental vehicle will not be available.

• Remote Muster Locations: Kelowna, Vernon and Kamloops or anywhere in between. (i.e. 350km radius). Other locations will be considered depending on the candidate.

• Accommodation: Mica Creek has a camp that was built in 2010. Forty (40) additional units were constructed in 2024 and 70 additional units scheduled to be completed in 2026.

• Meals included with accommodation.
