Coeur Mining, Inc. is a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing precious metals producer with five wholly owned operations: the Las Chispas silver-gold mine in Sonora, Mexico, the Palmarejo gold-silver complex in Chihuahua, Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. In addition, the Company wholly-owns the Silvertip polymetallic critical minerals exploration project in British Columbia.

Coeur Silvertip is one of the highest-grade silver-zinc lead projects in the world. Coeur is focused on targeted exploration of Silvertip’s large, highly prospective land package. Recent drilling results reinforce Silvertip's growing potential as an emerging tier-one asset for the Company.

About the Job:

The Environmental Permitting & Project Specialist supports the advancement of the Silvertip Project through the coordination and delivery of environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and site-based environmental projects in accordance with provincial, territorial, and federal requirements. The role provides technical and project leadership for permitting applications and amendments, environmental field programs, contractor and consultant oversight, and regulatory reporting. It also serves as a key interface between environmental, permitting, and project teams. This position also supports engagement with regulators, Indigenous Groups, and internal stakeholders and operates with a high degree of independence in a camp-based, rotational environment to support project milestones and uphold Coeur’s environmental and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads by example to exemplify Coeur Mining’s core values: Protect, Develop, and Deliver.
  • Coordinates with internal and external subject-matter experts and evaluates technical data to prepare and facilitate the preparation of permit applications, permit amendments, notice of work applications, notifications of departure, work plans, assessments and regulatory reports.
  • Coordinates compliance-related projects and studies, construction projects, site improvements and upgrades.
  • Responsible for contractor supervision on site; Coordinates with third-party consultants and contractors; Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Provide leadership to the environmental field coordinators at site, including scheduling, oversight, mentoring and direction.
  • Supports planning and coordination of EA and permitting – related field programs on site.
  • Acts as a key liaison between the Environment, Permitting, and Project teams to support coordinated project delivery.
  • Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of all environmental Management Plans, permits, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversees the preparation and review of regulatory submissions and notifications as required.
  • Contributes to permitting and approval programs and procedures in accordance with local regulatory and environmental authorities.
  • Continuously monitor safety and environmental management to ensure we meet our own standards.
  • Contributes to the development and ongoing updates of environmental plans and supports the implementation of strategies to improve the performance of the Company, personnel, and contractors.
  • Establish and maintain professional and productive relations with Regional Regulatory Authorities and local communities.
  • Establish and maintain two-way communication channels with Supervisor and fellow employees to achieve an effective working relationship and culture of teamwork.
  • Collaborate with management, technical consultants and internal subject-matter experts to develop solutions and solve problems.
  • All duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ability to work safely and promote safe behavior in others with a commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in program coordination, project management, regulatory reporting, environmental assessment, permitting, and environmental management within a mining environment.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in environmental management and relationship management with regulatory authorities and key stakeholders.
  • Professional designation (P.Geo, P.Eng., R.P.Bio., or equivalent).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills including a working knowledge Microsoft Office Suites.

Additional Information:

  • Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.
  • Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
