Our Toronto office is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Public Relations Coordinator to join our growing team.
This is a fixed-term contract position ending in December 2026.
Duties
- Reporting directly to the Project Managers, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Serving as an accessible public information liaison with the general public, residents, and business owners to register inquiries or claims.
- Conduct periodic site visits and work closely with residents, businesses, and construction teams to help with the early identification and resolution of issues.
- Develop professional rapport with construction teams, residents and business owners.
- Assist Site Representatives and Contract Administrators with coordination of temporary water shut-offs, temporary lane closures, etc.
- Prepare and distribute public notices and construction updates.
- Maintain a log to track and follow up with all questions and complaints and facilitate the resolution of these issues.
- Respond to phone calls and emails from affected stakeholders.
- Attend meetings and prepare minutes.
- Other duties as required where appropriate for the position.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in customer service or public relations.
- Knowledge in construction of Municipal and/or Transportation infrastructure projects is an asset but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of problem-solving capabilities.
- Superior English communication skills both oral and written.
- Demonstrated experience in conflict management and negotiation is an asset.
- Strong computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is: $27-$30/hour
Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
