As the largest private sector Living Wage Employer in Canada, we’re proud to be consistently recognized as one of the country’s Top Employers. If you’re ready to join our team of 2,300 diverse individuals, access competitive rewards and benefits, and be part of a greater movement - apply today!

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a Vice-President (VP), Branch Channel, you will provide strategic leadership to Vancity’s retail branch network, translating enterprise strategy into regional outcomes and ensuring consistently high-quality member experiences across all regions. You will lead a team of Senior Regional Directors and branch leaders to drive service, growth, and financial performance, while championing transformational change in how our branches operate – from new branch development and network optimization to IT-enabled service innovation. You are a collaborative, values-aligned and transformational leader with a proven track record in regional branch leadership, strategic project development and execution, and sales leadership in financial services.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the EVP, Inclusive Banking & Sustainable Wealth. Candidates must be located in the Vancouver / Lower Mainland region or be willing to relocate.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Providing strategic leadership to Vancity’s branch network to deliver market and revenue growth along with service excellence for members
  • Driving regional and branch performance across service, growth, and operational metrics using clear accountabilities and data-informed decision-making to proactively meet member and community needs
  • Leading transformational branch-focused change and process improvement initiatives that advance the branch service model of the future in partnership with IT
  • Developing and executing strategic projects that optimize branch structures, enable modern, scalable service delivery, and respond to evolving member and community needs
  • Embedding disciplined sales management practices and discovery coaching to enable branch teams to lead effective needs-based conversations, surface opportunities, and connect members with the right expertise across Sustainable Wealth and Commercial Business Banking
  • Leading and developing Senior Regional Directors as enterprise leaders, strengthening leadership capability, engagement, succession planning, and a high-performance, inclusive culture grounded in equity and accountability
  • Ensuring effective risk management, compliance, and regulatory oversight across branches, balancing access and innovation with Vancity’s risk tolerance
  • Collaborating across Inclusive Banking and Sustainable Wealth to align branch priorities with enterprise strategy and values, and to champion impact for our members and communities

Where You’ll Lead and Influence:

  • Providing executive oversight of Vancity’s branch network across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, comprising more than 50 branches across four regions, ensuring consistent service excellence and alignment to enterprise strategy
  • Leading and developing a team of Senior Regional Directors, with overall accountability for approximately 700 employees across the branch network, fostering a high‑performance, inclusive, and member‑centred culture
  • Overseeing a significant retail portfolio, including $17.4B in retail lending and $14.1B in deposits, ensuring strong financial performance, responsible growth, and disciplined risk management

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field, with an MBA or equivalent considered an asset
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in retail banking or financial services, including senior leadership responsibility for multiple branch locations and branch leader
  • Proven track record of driving regional growth, service excellence, and financial performance in a regulated financial services environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading branch regional teams and coaching Branch Managers to be strategic, enterprise-minded leaders while building strong succession
  • Evidence of transformational leadership with experience leading complex change, including strategic project development and execution across multi-site branch networks
  • Strong sales leadership capability with a deep understanding of branch operations, including sales management, advice delivery, and service model execution
  • Sound risk, compliance, and governance acumen, including experience managing regulatory and conduct requirements in retail banking
  • A collaborative, values-aligned leadership style that builds inclusive, high-performance cultures grounded in equity, accountability, and Vancity’s commitments to inclusion and social justice

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Bringing experience advancing inclusive banking, Indigenous banking, or financial resilience initiatives in retail or community banking contexts
  • Offering prior experience shaping future-focused branch service models, including network optimization and technology-enabled service delivery
  • Demonstrating a track record of partnering effectively with executive and cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-wide strategic initiatives

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:

  • Values-driven – You are deeply committed to inclusion, social justice, and community impact, and you bring these values to every leadership decision.
  • Collaborative – You build strong, trusting relationships with peers, partners, and teams, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and shared success across regions.
  • Strategic – You think enterprise-wide, translating bold strategies into clear regional priorities, projects, and measurable outcomes for members and communities.
  • Transformational – You lead change with empathy and courage, inspiring high-performing teams through complex transformation and continuous improvement.
  • People-centered – You prioritize member and employee experiences, listening deeply and using data and insight to guide decisions that create long-term value.
