Job Purpose and Overview

As a driver for Dawn Foods, you will be responsible for completing the daily route as assigned in a timely manner, with safety and production in focus. This position is for our union, Montreal location. The driver will perform deliveries and pick‑ups along this route, as well as in Quebec and surrounding areas.

Obey all local rules and regulations of the road, including all DOT operating and recording procedures. Conduct daily face‑to‑face interaction with customers; represent Dawn Foods in a friendly, competent, and professional manner.

Duties may include but are not limited to breaking down product, shelf‑stacking, offloading with electric pallet jacks, performing pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, and collecting invoice receipts generated from the deliveries.

This is a full‑time, benefits‑eligible position.

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain a current Class A/ Class 3 CDL license
• Have a minimum of six months experience and a clear driving record
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
• Effective communication with co‑workers and customers in English and French
• Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, divide, and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions or given direction
• Move or lift up to 50 lbs
• Specific vision abilities: distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Ability to withstand cool and/or cold temperatures
• Must comply with Internal Food Safety standards (IFS)

Responsibilities

• Complete daily routes safely and productively
• Rotate customer stock purchased from Dawn Foods Products and provide courteous, professional service to all customers
• Maintain proper paperwork according to DOT guidelines and Dawn Foods procedures
• Accurately deliver all product, minimizing damage and invoice error ratio
• Maintain high communication with team from customer service, sales, and warehouse
• Optional responsibilities: delivery of product via carry‑in, two‑wheeler and power walker; proper handling of cash and/or check payments from customers; vendor pick‑up for product replenishment
