About the Role
NearSource Technologies is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our engineering team and contribute to the quality, reliability, and scalability of modern software applications and cloud-based services. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Product teams to build robust test automation solutions and ensure the delivery of high-quality software. The ideal candidate has a passion for software quality, automation, and continuous improvement, along with experience developing automated test frameworks in Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate as an active member of a collaborative software engineering team.
- Perform end-to-end software testing, including requirements analysis, test planning, test case design, execution, defect tracking, and quality assessment.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks and test cases to improve software quality and release efficiency.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and system testing across software applications and cloud services.
- Collaborate with Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Product Managers, and UX teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Identify software defects, perform root cause analysis, and work closely with development teams to validate fixes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for testing processes, automation frameworks, and quality engineering practices.
- Monitor software quality metrics and help improve application reliability, performance, scalability, and resiliency.
- Stay current with emerging testing methodologies, cloud technologies, and industry best practices.
- Support Agile development processes by actively participating in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
Must-Have Skills
- 1+ years of professional experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Groovy, or Shell scripting.
- Experience with containerization and microservices-based architectures.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong application testing experience across software applications.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test automation solutions.
- Experience with software testing methodologies, defect tracking, and quality assurance best practices.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional engineering teams.
Secondary Skills
- Knowledge of the Microsoft .NET platform.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to cloud-native application testing and automation.
