Student Project CoordinatorOur internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We’ll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.

Projects are scoped in alignment with your term length, and typically focus on a current construction project.

We are seeking a student to join us for an 8-12 month co-op position starting in September 2026. This position will be based out of Kelowna, BC.

What You Will Be Working On

ProjectCoordination:

  • Coordinatedrawingsandworkspecificscope/trades.

  • Reviewtradequotes,verifymaterialquantities,hours,andrates.

  • Participateinprojectmeetings.

  • Conductdeficiencywalksandupdatedeficiencylogs.

  • Issuewarranties.

  • Takeandcoordinateprogressphotos.

  • Updatefielddrawingsandproduceas-builtdrawings.

FieldCoordination:

  • Performquantitytakeoffs.

  • Coordinatesub-tradework.

  • Verifysiteconditionsandcoordinatewithdrawings.

  • Supervisesub-tradework.

  • Setupandmaintainrecordkeeping.

  • Layoutsitelinesandgradesusingtotalstation.

Scheduling:

  • Updateprojectschedules.

  • Createmanualschedulesandupdateschedules

  • Obtainschedulinginformationfromsub-trades.

  • Createandmaintaingraphicalscheduling

  • Monitormanpowerproductivity.

What We Are Looking For

  • YouarecurrentlyenrolledinCivil,Mechanical, Structural Engineering,orConstructionprogram

  • Youwillcompleteatleastonemoresemesterofeducationfollowingyourinternship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Abilitytoleadandoperatewithinanenvironmentwherechangehappensfrequently

  • Abilitytoforge,growandmaintainpositiverelationships

  • ExemplifytheIdealTeamPlayer–Hungry,Humble,Smart

  • Highlydevelopedinterpersonal,communication,andorganizationalskills

  • Senseofurgencyandstrongcommitmenttoachievinggoals

  • Residency,oravalidworkpermitwhichwouldallowyoutoworkforBirdConstructionor one of our wholly owned subsidiaries
