- The SOC Validation Engineer is responsible for pre- and post-silicon validation of Graphics and SOC IP.
- This role involves working closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to ensure high-quality design implementation, debug, and performance validation across graphics pipelines and system-level bring-up.
- Perform IP and SOC bring-up, debug, and validation across pre- and post-silicon platforms.
- Develop and execute test plans for Graphics hardware pipelines, drivers, and display systems.
- Utilize FPGA and hardware emulation platforms for pre-silicon validation and debug.
- Analyze BIOS, OS, and driver-level interactions to identify and resolve common failure points.
- Use programming and scripting skills (Python, C/C++, Ruby) to automate test procedures and data collection.
- Employ common lab equipment, computer hardware, and network tools for testing and validation.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance engineering quality.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Validate standard power management features and graphics IP use-cases.
- In-depth knowledge of SOC architecture, Graphics hardware pipelines, and driver-level interactions.
- Experience with graphics engines and rendering software pipelines.
- Experience with IP/System level bring-up, SOC debug techniques, and methodologies.
- Strong programming/scripting skills (Python, C/C++, Ruby).
- Experience with FPGA and hardware emulation platforms for pre-silicon debug.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter, strong collaborator, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
- 2-4 years relevant experience in pre- and post-silicon validation of Graphics IP.
- 3-6 years experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Personal passion for computer gaming and driving game performance goals.
- Experience with BIOS, OS, driver interactions, and common failure points.
- Experience in process improvement initiatives to improve engineering quality.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
