HR Manager Focus Labour Relations
Location : Onsite – Delta BC
Salary Range : $120,000–$130,000 + bonus
Position Summary
The HR Manager, Labour Relations will lead all labour relations activities for a unionized environment and serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders. This role is responsible for collective bargaining, grievance management, contract administration, and providing expert guidance on labour and employment matters, while also supporting broader HR functions including training, development, staffing, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead labour relations strategy for unionized operations.
- Act as primary contact for unions and manage day-to-day union relationships.
- Prepare for and lead collective bargaining and contract negotiations.
- Interpret and administer collective agreements, company policies, and employment legislation.
- Manage grievance and arbitration processes, including investigations and case preparation.
- Provide coaching and advocacy to senior leaders and managers on labour and employee relations matters.
- Support HR initiatives including training and development, workforce planning, staffing, and performance management.
- Identify organizational development and training needs and implement programs accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal labour legislation.
- Promote a positive employee relations culture aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.7–8+ years of progressive HR experience within unionized environments.Strong experience with collective bargaining, grievances, and labour negotiations.Solid knowledge of employment and labour legislation.Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.Ability to influence and partner with senior leadership.
