Salary :

  • Administrative Support 3 – $1,692.06 to $2,141.00 bi-weekly ($44,162 to $55,880 / year), $23.34 to $29.53 per hour
  • Administrative Support 4 – $1,862.58 to $2,356.75 bi-weekly ($48,613 to $61,511 / year), $25.69 to $32.51 per hour

We are looking for team players who can think and work independently as well as support team members doing a variety of duties, while adhering to policies, procedures and processes. In addition, you will exercise your proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, to ensure the day-to-day administrative duties are carried out smoothly.

Your strong attention to detail and accuracy will help you prepare correspondence and a variety of documents. Your exceptional relationship building skills will help you provide customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Your desire to excel and achieve results will make you an asset to any team. In addition, excellent communication skills dealing with individuals in person, over the phone, virtually and in a variety of written formats (e-mail, letters, etc.) will help you be effective in any administrative support role. Your organizational and prioritization skills will assist you in meeting deadlines while producing quality work that will lead to your success.

Administrative Categories and Examples

  • Program Support - first point of contact for the public on the phone, via email or in person, explaining requirements, processes and benefits of a program.
  • Office and Administrative Support - drafts and formats office correspondence, manages records, data entry, calendars, and orders office supplies.
  • Financial Support - supports finance teams, expenditures, reconciliation, petty cash, and reviews transactions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Call Centre Support - provides information and handles public inquiries regarding major government announcements, public consultation initiatives or major incidents.
  • Legal Support - ensures completion and compliance within applicable legislation, regulations and policies, and provides support to Crown Prosecutors, the Court, or the Criminal Justice and Corrections systems.
  • Human Resource Support - scheduling, preparing and distributing hearing packages, data entry, and coordination.
  • Social Services Support - supports front-line services for programs that support seniors, children / youth, and vulnerable populations.
  • Qualifications

    Requirements

  • Administrative Support 3 - High School diploma plus a minimum of one year of related administrative experience
  • Administrative Support 4 - High School diploma plus a minimum of two years of related administrative experience
  • Minimum of one year of work experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Equivalencies will be considered based on 1 year of experience for 1 year of education or 1 year of education for 1 year of experience. Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.     Notes

    This competition will be used to fill current and future vacancies in Fairview, AB for various wage, temporary and permanent Administrative Support positions as part of the Administrative Talent Pool. Part-time opportunities may be available. The number of positions to be filled has not been identified at this time as vacancies in different departments will vary. This competition will be used to create an eligibility list of qualified candidates to fill upcoming opportunities.

  • Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • A valid driver's licence may be required for some positions
  • Standard work hours are 36.25 hours per week; some positions may work 40 hours per week
  • Final candidates may be required to undergo a security screening. Any costs associated with obtaining the required documents / checks as noted or interview travel expenses will be the candidate's responsibility. Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents / checks from the province they currently reside in.
