We are currently looking for a Therapy Assistant to join our Therapy team in our 105-bed Eagle Wood Neurological Care Centre in Peterborough.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Participate as a full member of the Therapy team in implementing individual treatment plans, collaborating with other relevant multidisciplinary team members where appropriate.
- Prepare residents for therapy sessions, ensuring privacy and dignity are maintained at all times.
- Organise activity programmes that maintain residents' interest and promote progression, ensuring activities are high quality, age-appropriate, condition-specific, and offer good value.
- Support ongoing monitoring, support, and assessment of residents’ physical and mental health needs under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
- Prepare and clean equipment, and maintain tidy working areas during and after treatment.
- Monitor residents’ progress and report observations to the Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist, and Nurse in Charge.
- Maintain accurate and legible records using SOAP format in therapy notes.
- Update therapy database records as required or requested by the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
- Work with unit-based Activities Champions to develop and implement weekly activity plans.
- Support OT kitchen sessions as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Collaborate with the Activities Engagement Co-Ordinator on the alternate site to encourage a coordinated approach, monitor residents’ progress, and provide feedback to the therapy team.
