The Second Languages division is currently looking for an in-house developmental editor to identify needs and develop products for English as a Second Language (ESL / ELT) and French as a Second Language (FSL) higher education courses.

TC Media Books Second Languages division develops print and digital materials for learning English or French as a second language. Our publications are destined for all levels of second-language teaching throughout Canada and internationally.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success :

• Identifies development opportunities in the markets for which he / she is responsible and participates in defining the publication plan for the second languages division.
• Plans and undertakes market studies (in collaboration with the Senior Director and R&D) to identify needs validate editorial direction and ensure the success of all publications for which he / she is responsible.
• Defines project concepts both print and digital that meet market needs and expectations as well as profitability requirements.
• Recruits authors and collaborators needed for the development of all projects under his / her responsibility.
• Works with editorial teams to ensure projects are published on time within budget and in accordance with objectives standards and best practices.
• Develops and maintains a network of key contacts in the field of Second-language learning and teaching.
• Stays abreast of changes in the market and new trends in pedagogy and technology.
