Project Engineering Representative

What will you be doing!

• Developing and preparing technical specifications and work scopes.
• Assisting in the selection of design / construction participants and the award of contracts.
• Participating in leading engineering surveillance activities and assessing the design in progress, including the review of key design documents to verify that design requirements are met.
• Ensuring adequate independent (third-party) technical review of the design.
• Participating in preparing submissions of key technical and safety-related documents to the Delegate Design - Authority for the Chief Nuclear Engineer for review.
• Facilitating the transfer of specialized design knowledge to Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL).
• Assessing equipment options and making recommendations.
• Assisting the Project Lead and Project Control Representative in developing project work packages, including deliverables, budgets and schedules.
• Participating in the preparation of technical documents, work scopes and engineering surveillance plans, performing surveillance of design, construction and commissioning activities of suppliers, including participants.
• Identifying, assessing, and initiating changes in accordance with the project scope statement and project change control.
• Interfacing with design participants, operations engineers, technical staff and nuclear operators to provide technical support during all phases of the project, as required to meet project objectives.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

This role is a fully onsite role that requires the employee to primarily work at CNL’s Chalk River Laboratory site, with only occasional opportunities to work remotely, if desired by the employee.
