What you will do
The Operations & Maintenance Operating Engineer will be part of our P3 Building Technologies & Solutions business at Johnson Controls. This position is located at theAbbotsford Law Courts where you will join a team that performs a variety of tasks to maintain building systems and equipment throughout the hospital its central utility plant and general property.
How you will do it
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on critical facility equipment and systems including : Chillers Cooling Towers Air Compressors Fan Coils Air Handling Units Fire Alarm Systems Trash and waste removal Systems building internal and external maintenance and upkeep among numerous other systems and equipment. Competency with the operation logs and readings and minor repairs of this equipment is mandatoryPerform regular facility equipment and systems monitoring and inspection preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure facility uptime objectives are met uninterrupted client operation and asset integrity are maintainedWork withsubcontractorson equipment repair preventative maintenance and calibrationPerform work in accordance with established Project Agreement processes including response and rectification guidelinesComplies with all internal and external requirements including authority-driven requirements including but not limited to environmental health and safety and fire protectionCommunicate and record observations about facility equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repairMonitors the facility by conducting facility walkthroughs equipment and system monitoring and inspectionMaintains troubleshoots and repairs equipment and building systemsRecord repair and correction data within the computerized maintenance management databaseReceive track monitor and report on the status of maintenance and repair work within a computerized maintenance management databaseRecommends spare parts and supply purchases for facility equipmentAccurately maintains / completes all equipment logbooks and maintenance records as required by various authoritiesAssists in the implementation of the preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified recorded and escalated and that related documentations are maintainedMaintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required.Assists in enhancing customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through the manner in which work is performed and services are delivered.All other duties as assigned.Core Strengths

Ensures that all work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times in a manner consistent with good housekeeping practices.General Maintenance. Performs maintenance inspection and repair work on all facilities and systems within the scope of work defined by the Facility Maintenance Services Agreement (FMSA) as and when required directed or assigned consistent with their skills abilities and training.What we look for
Required
Facility maintenance experience inhealthcare university food manufacturing or other similar commercial or industrial institutions preferred.Ability to learn as you go retain provided training and demonstrate experience gained by updating day-to-day processes.Must be able and willing to work flexible shifts be available for on-call / standby and emergency call-outsAvailable to work shift work 8-hour and or 12-hour rotating shifts including Stat Holidays to maintain 24 / 7 coveragePositive and professional disposition towards work including willingness to agree with co-workers and supervisors to promote a hard-working teamMust be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment(PPE)Must have the ability to use hand tools lift / carry 50 lbs. and work on laddersRequires working extended periods on their feet multitasking in a fast-paced environmentExperience building automation systems controls and HVAC troubleshooting (Metasys)The successful candidate will need to pass extensive security / background checksPreferred
Requires a good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems including the interpretation of blueprints and schematicsMust be familiar with the use of building automation systems (BAS) Metasys knowledge is an assetMust have good oral and written communication skills and be fluent in the English languageWorking knowledge of the use of computers handheld devices and other common communication technologiesStrong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgencyAbility to succeed in a team-oriented environment under very dynamic (changing) conditionsAbility to maintain confidentiality of JCCLP and client-related business activitiesPay Range : $35.00 hourly rate determined by the CBA / rate sheet.
