About The Job

The Registered Nurse :

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual employment and lead to regular employment.

Shifts of work will be scheduled Mon- Fri plus on-call, days and evenings; rotating from 07 : 00 to 15 : 00, 07 : 30 to 15 : 30, 08 : 30 to 16 : 30, 09 : 30 to 17 : 30, 11 : 15 to 18 : 45, 08 : 30 to 17 : 00 hours.

About this location / unit :

Kootenay Lake Hospital’s Operating Room Department has two OR theatres functional Monday to Friday. Types of procedures include : Endoscopy, Major Obs / Gyne, Dental, Ophthalmology / Cataracts, minor Ortho, and minor General Surgery. Up to nine Operating Room RNs circulate / scrub, including a float nurse plus a RN is Daycare Surgery and PAR. The hospital has a strong Obs / Gyne program supported by 24 / 7 on-call operating room capacity.
