Were looking for a Feed Delivery Driver to join our team. Someone who understands that this role is about far more than simply picking up and dropping off product.
As a key member of our delivery team, youll play an important role in supporting the success of our customers and our business. Youll complete on-farm deliveries safely and professionally while building strong relationships with customers and representing GVF on farm.
This role requires someone who is organized, dependable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently. You take pride in delivering excellent service, understand the importance of reliability in our customers operations, and are committed to safety and accuracy in everything you do.
Working with us:
The standard workweek for this position is Monday to Friday. Delivery staff must arrive at Grand Valley Fortifiers by 6:30 a.m. and be on the road by 7:00 a.m. Each day concludes once all assigned deliveries are completed and the truck has been returned to the GVF yard.
Because of the nature of the role, flexibility is required to support customer and operational needs. The position includes participation in a rotating Saturday on-call schedule, shared among the delivery team. When scheduled for on-call duty, you may be required to work on Saturdays as needed.
You may occasionally be scheduled for one weekday off to support operational planning.
The role may also include occasional overnight travel to service customers in outlying or remote areas. Whenever possible, overnight assignments will be communicated in advance.
What you'll do:
- Review daily dispatch instructions and confirm assigned loads are accurate before departing
- Safely transport and deliver bulk and bagged feed to customer farms
- Follow customer directions and farm-specific delivery instructions to ensure accurate and efficient unloading
- Operate delivery equipment carefully and professionally in active farm environments
- Build positive, professional relationships with customers through dependable service and respectful communication
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and perform routine care and maintenance of delivery vehicles and equipment
- Monitor vehicles and delivery equipment, promptly reporting any issues that could affect safe operation
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of delivery equipment and workspaces
- Follow established biosecurity practices and comply with customer-specific farm protocols to protect livestock operations
- Support delivery accuracy by verifying customer directions and on-farm instructions to minimize errors
- Work closely with internal teams including delivery, sales, customer service, production, loading, and warehousing to ensure efficient service
- Assist with customer service recovery when needed by supporting the resolution of delivery issues in coordination with internal teams
- Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with partner feed mills and external partners
- Stay informed on GVF products, services, and company initiatives by attending team meetings and training sessions
- Occasionally support product awareness initiatives by directing customers to the appropriate GVF resources or team members for product information
- Contribute to a safe workplace by following company health and safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Your background includes:
- 2+ years of working experience in a similar role
- Valid AZ or DZ Drivers License
- Clean drivers abstract and CVOR is required
- Experience operating bulk feed trucks and auger systems is an asset
- Ability to safely operate on farms, rural roads, tight yard spaces and unpaved surfaces
- Ability to lift up to 25 kgs and unload bags manually on a daily basis
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong spatial awareness and backing skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable and able to work independently
