Volunteer Tutor, Program Assistant

Duties :

This unique combined position supports student success and the operational excellence in the Faculty of Academic and Career Preparation and the Faculty of Education. The role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success while contributing to the smooth operation of academic programs. You'll work in a dynamic environment where collaboration, adaptability, and professionalism are key. This position will focus on cultivating and maintaining relationships internally and externally to VIU.

The role encompasses two key areas :

• Volunteer Tutor Assistant - Facilitating a volunteer-based tutoring program to support students' academic success in the Faculty of Academic and Career Preparation at the Nanaimo and Cowichan campuses.
• Program Assistant, Education Programs - Providing administrative and operational support in the Bachelor of Education program.

Required Qualifications :

One-year office administration certificate, or equivalent, from an appropriately accredited institution, and five years of previous experience in a post-secondary environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
