Position Summary :
The Division of Surgical Oncology (Urology) Prostate and Uro-Oncology Clinical Research Unit
provides clinical study coordination services to internal and external investigators and is comprised of 10 clinical trial staff. The program supports one physician-investigator and several affiliated fellows or physician-scientists. The portfolio is comprised of 10-20 clinical research studies (industry cooperative group grant funded and IIS). The program also offers coordination of large multi-centered trials under a CRO umbrella of services. The department also includes a GU Biobank for collection of biospecimen services including consenting recruitment and collection and also comprises of studies from external and internal investigators.
The Clinical Research Manager is responsible for a positive work culture the development implementation and maintenance of work practices to permit the delivery of high quality and efficient clinical study coordination services while building excellence and capacity to respond to the clinical research portfolio within the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The primary accountabilities of this role are to oversee the study coordination and regulatory management aspects of clinical trials biobank studies and other research projects. This includes managing a team of clinical study specialists the administration and distribution of workload overseeing study and staff performance human resource management communicating across teams and with study sponsors performing quality control and assurance activities as required and performing cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned and or requested.
