The sales team is looking for an energetic motivated and focused team member. If you want to be part of a team that is at the center of sales activities that constantly challenges you and that provides a chance to create an impact for our clients then this role is for you!

As part of the Manulife Investment Management team the Business Development Associate is one of the members of a wholesaling team that consists of a District Vice President and Business Development Manager. Your directive will be to partner with the sales teams in achieving a sales target. To do this you will be required to develop a detailed understanding of the sales needs of each of your territories participate in business development initiatives and work directly with advisors.

You are an effective communicator well organized and demonstrate the ability to collaborate. You also take initiative are a problem solver and are results- and team-oriented. There will be occasionally travel for training meetings and the execution of territory events. A basic knowledge of retail wealth products such as mutual funds segregated funds and ETFs will be beneficial to grow your career at Manulife Investment Management.

Position Responsibilities :

Build and manage relationships with advisors and key internal Manulife partners

Provide input for the development and execution of the annual territory business plan

Assist in the preparation of reports and fund proposals for internal partners and investment advisors

Coordinating and participating in corporate and social events with industry professionals

Act as the main point of contact with internal and external partners

Schedule and confirm meetings for the District Vice President

Handle territory budgets

Facilitate weekly team meetings

Orchestrate process for requesting Portfolio Manager access in the field

Plan and implement events right from the beginning planning stages to the agenda to everything in between

Use mass email tool to handle email territory distribution lists execute e-marketing campaigns and run tracking reports to analyze campaign success

Provide guidance to sales teams regarding internal Manulife policies and industry regulations governing sales practices

This is the job for you because you :

Balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Are flexible and adaptable when dealing with changing priorities and tight deadlines

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Investigate problems without supervision

Learn quickly and are a self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced work environment

Demonstrate tact and integrity while mitigating risk

Demonstrate strong PC skills with experience using Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel; ability to learn new technologies quickly

Are experienced with Salesforce and SAP Concur

Required Qualifications :

Post-secondary education preferred

Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or IFIC course is considered an asset

Experience in Mutual Fund business or brokerage / financial planning industry is an asset

Salary range is expected to be between

$48450.00 CAD - $80750.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education / training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
