This is an exciting opportunity for you to be responsible for the operations of 119+ Pharmacies in British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon and Northwest Territories by leading and developing their team of Directors, who in turn do the same for our in-store teams. Their role is to coach, develop and actively drive the success of the pharmacy, to ensure a safe and effective pharmacy practice that provides exceptional patient care. This leader will help transform the pharmacy patient experience as we continue to invest in the future of pharmacy and provide better access to primary healthcare.

Primary Responsibilities :
Financial / Business Growth :
- Full P&L accountability for pharmacies within Loblaw Companies Ltd. Grocery supermarkets in BC, Alberta, and 2 Territories; investigate, understand, review, and identify critical P&L components such as, labour, inventory, growth opportunities etc.
- Responsible for delivering on period financial results; proactive approach to identify gaps and opportunities,
- Strive for continuous improvement in sales and script growth and maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape
- Discuss business expectations relative to store execution / results.

Monitor and review weekly sales projections, labour and workflow, shrink, and inventory, training, professional services, quality assurance, promotional programs, store presentation and project rollouts with Directors.Consistent communication with Directors to keep them updated on the implementation of programs and initiatives, accountabilities, and provincial pharmacy regulatory changes.Find opportunities through review of store standards, department appearance, merchandising, signing, backroom and labour standards, resulting in improved department conditions, sales and costs based on execution of recommended solutions; resulting in a professional appearance and level of service, improved quality assurance, sales and costs.Lead and advise the timely execution of Pharmacy projects, initiatives, monthly department plans and rollouts.Support and assist Directors with development / projects, set-up of all new store openings and expansionsAssess and communicate feedback on projects, support programs or layout concerns to central teamsCross Functional Collaboration & Leadership :
Regular dialogue with the enterprise pharmacy team and Ops VP, relative to upcoming promotions, staffing, service and store specific commitments.Build and maintain strong relationships with District Managers and Vice Presidents of respective grocery banners to ensure appropriate knowledge and partnership and business insight.Regional :
Competitive monitoring of Pharmacy retail environment in respective provinces to ensure Loblaw pharmacies are the industry leaders.Apply expertise on provincial and federal pharmacy regulations as well as standard operating procedures and policies.Promote representation on provincial regulatory bodies and advocacy groups (applicable associations).Share insights into the competitive landscape with the enterprise pharmacy team (fees, market share, pricing, volumes, programs, promotions, pharmacy talent).Qualifications :
10+ years of progressive, management related experienceBachelor of Science, Pharmacy; or equivalentMBA preferredExcellent eye for businessUnderstanding of retail pharmacy processesProven track record to lead ground-breaking change effortsProven understanding of Pharmacy Landscape and Retail IndustryStrong existing / collaborative relationships with regulatory and advocacy partnersStrong interpersonal and people leadership skills; ability to empower a teamDemonstrated skills in relationship building and influencing to achieve resultsStrong leadership, collaboration, coaching and mentoring skills requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsIdeally the incumbent will reside in Calgary, AlbertaRegular travel is required, often requiring overnight stays
