Position Summary
Are you a Pharmacy Assistant looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Pharmacy department.

Reports to the Manager or designate. Under direction from a pharmacist, dispenses, manufactures, packages, labels, stores, and distributes pharmaceuticals and prepares intravenous (IV) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) solutions. Records narcotic and controlled drug use and maintains stock control.

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 30-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with Medical Imaging, Laboratory, ICU, ER and Maternity. Services include:
• Acute Care
• Internal medicine
• Internal Medicine
• Ultrasound
• CT scans
• Surgery
• Emergency department
• Extended care
• Pediatrics
• Radiology
• Obstetrics
• Gynecology
Additional services such as Diabetes Education, Healthy Heart and Rehabilitation, Podiatry, Orthopedics, and other visiting specialists.

Prince Rupert is a marine-based port city with one-of-a-kind wilderness exploration and wildlife viewing experiences on northwest BC’s Pacific Coast. It’s also a popular stop on various Alaskan cruises. Located 721 km (447 miles) west of Prince George on Highway 16, Prince Rupert is the land, air, and water transportation hub of British Columbia’s North Coast, and home to 13,500 people. The city sits at the mouth of the Skeena River, surrounded by Chatham Sound and many small, uninhabited islands. Qualfications
• Grade 12, graduation from a recognized Pharmacy Assistant course plus two years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to type.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
