Overview
Large Loss Field Adjuster - Residential Property Claims role at Aviva Canada. The role involves investigation, quantification, analysis, adjustment and settlement of complex property claims in excess of $250,000. The adjustment is conducted efficiently and effectively to control indemnity, spend and expenses while delivering superior customer service.
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate and manage personal lines complex claims from initial report to final settlement
- Conduct thorough investigations, including site inspections and interviews with relevant parties
- Assess damages and determine coverage based on policy terms
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers and other experts to gather documentation and evidence
- Negotiate settlements with customers, ensuring fair and equitable resolutions
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all claims activities while keeping all parties current on claim progress
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance
- Provide expert advice and support to policyholders throughout the claims process
- Ensure all correspondence is completed in a timely and effective manner, including the creation of Critical Path Letters, Proof of Losses, and Reservation of Rights letters
- Responsible for data accuracy and issuing payments to vendors, insureds and experts
- Recognize questionable claims, subrogation and risk opportunities
- Review case law to determine liability
What You’ll Bring
Thorough knowledge of the property insurance industryAt least 7-10 years of large loss adjusting experienceSolid experience in directly handling complex losses in excess of $250,000Licenses for New Brunswick, Newfoundland and PEI are preferred (or willing to work towards it)Strong construction knowledge and digital literacyStrong case law knowledge in both civil code and common law provincesThorough knowledge of a variety of property coverage wordingsSome basic accounting skillsSuperior communication and negotiation skillsExcellent report writing skillsWhat You’ll Get
The salary range for this position is $100,000-$125,000.
