We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel in diverse environments. If you are passionate about delivering high-quality medical care and emergency response, we encourage you to apply and become a part of our mission to maintain the highest safety standards.

Trojan Safety is a leader in integrated safety and compliance services, distinguished by our commitment to innovation and excellence. We provide comprehensive health, safety, and environmental services to industries such as oil and gas, mining, pulp and paper, forestry, and construction across Western Canada.

We are seeking qualified individuals to join our team as primary care paramedics in BC. Our PCPs are essential in delivering emergency health services and on-site medical care. You will be equipped with advanced medical equipment and work alongside industry-leading professionals to ensure the highest medical care and safety standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a primary care paramedic in BC, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Keeping all certifications current, including H2S, TDG, WHMIS, and Provincial Governing Body Registration;
  • Providing first aid and other emergency medical services to workers;
  • Organizing and maintaining medical equipment, vehicles, and treatment areas;
  • Documenting headcounts on location and handling occasional client-specific paperwork;
  • Completing and maintaining accurate medical records;
  • Attending daily safety meetings;
  • Adhering to company work procedures and safe work practices;
  • Maintaining knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology;
  • Regularly updating skills through self-guided study and skill stations.

Ideal primary care paramedic candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Confidence and leadership;
  • Strong sense of responsibility;
  • Practical approach to problem-solving;
  • Patience and composure under pressure;
  • Ability to connect with and respect people;
  • High level of safety awareness;
  • Excellent organizational and decision-making abilities.

Physical Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Maintain a high level of physical fitness;
  • Work in adverse weather conditions;
  • Be prepared to work long hours and multiple consecutive shifts, including day and night;
  • Have normal colour vision, as many safety systems are colour-coded.

Qualifications

  • Registered as PCP with the BC Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board (EMA);
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a current (within three months) clean driver abstract and no serious traffic safety violations;
  • Valid WHMIS certificate (training provided if needed);
  • Valid TDG certificate (training provided if needed);
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate;

The following values are at the heart of everything we do.

Show you care

Having a team that genuinely wants to help others is what we are all about—it’s why we love the safety business. We want to surround ourselves with people who take pride in going the extra mile and demonstrate courtesy, gratitude and humility.

Keep learning

Always on time

It’s about respect. On-time means you show up early and are ready to go before the promised start time. People notice when you’re on time, and they definitely notice when you’re late. Being on time is a key factor in building trust with our clients and co-workers. Let’s never violate that trust.

Dependable

It’s all about relationships

We live for great relationships, and in order to build those relationships, we consistently give more of ourselves than we ask of others. We inherently believe in putting our clients and colleagues first— it’s just the way we operate. We like people, we like having fun, and we love a good sense of humour, and it shows.
