Education and training
- Normally gained through post-secondary education at the University or Technical Institute level in one of the following :
- Business Administration
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- Information Technology
Certifications :
Project Management Institute-Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) Certification is preferred.Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification is preferred.Certified in People Change Management (e.g. Prosci) is desired.Any additional applicable certification(s) not listed above but are significant to the Project Manager II role (eg : Agile, Scrum, Kanban).Experience Required
Minimum ten (10) years of experience as a Project Manager III (managing large, complex projects); andMinimum two (2) years of experience as a Program Manager; andMinimum five (5) years of relevant business or technical experience, is preferred.Minimum seven (7) years of experience in financial reporting for large size projects including budgeting, cost tracking and cost control.Minimum seven (7) years of experience managing and holding third party vendors accountable.Proven experience in managing, prioritizing, and coordinating large, multiple complex projects as part of a program including translating project deliverables into benefits realization, reporting on program performance, managing requirements, solution design, development, and testing.Previous experience and thorough knowledge in Agile and Agile / Hybrid methodology.Minimum of three (3) years of IT and / or telecom experience preferred (wireline, wireless, converged). (Note : Relevant experience within the last seven (7) years).Will include, but not be limited to :
Accountable for all aspects of the project (or phase) over the entire project life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, control and monitor, close).Responsible for managing the project / program schedule, budget, scope, requirements, benefits, issues, risks, and communications.Act as the single point of contact and escalation for the project / program.Demonstrate strong leadership qualities in organization, planning, facilitation, risk analysis, project / program performance management, negotiation and communications (verbal and written).Core competencies such as initiative, relationship building, influencing others, problem solving and decision making.Manage the overall project / program including :Facilitating the development of and complying with the required Client Corporate Program Management Office (cPMO) standard Project Management deliverables including Business Case, Project Plan, Project Schedule, etc.Ensure adherence to project / program budget; responsible for cost management and reporting.Project / Program communications including development of Project Communications Plan, regular team status and communicating status at a Director and Executive level.People Change Management planning and execution.
