Mechanical Engineer – Fluid Systems

Job Overview

AlumaPower is a cleantech company with facilities in Sarnia and Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, focused on developing revolutionary aluminum-air batteries as a clean fuel source. This position is based in Sarnia and reports directly to the Product Development Manager. The role supports the team in designing, testing, and troubleshooting fluid–system components within an entrepreneurial and fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fluid handling systems, including piping, valves, compressors, and pumps.
• Perform fluid flow and thermal analyses to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Conduct modeling and simulations to validate designs under operating conditions.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (ASME, CSA, API, TSSA).
• Support assembly, testing, and commissioning of fluid systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
• Troubleshoot system issues and recommend design improvements.
• Document designs, test results, and engineering processes.
