Senior Java Developer / POD Lead

Our client, a leading organization in the healthcare and pharmacy sector, is seeking a Senior Java Developer / POD Lead to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Java Developer / POD Lead, you will be part of the Software Development Department supporting the Pharmacy domain. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Senior Java Developer / POD Lead

Location: Brampton, ON (Hybrid work - 3 days)

Pay Rate: $75hr + HST Incorporated (T4 option is also available at slightly lower rate)

Duration: 10 Months + Extension

What's the Job?

• Lead a development POD within the Pharmacy domain, ensuring delivery of high-quality backend solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for the POD, driving design, development, and integration of Java/Spring Boot applications.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to ensure smooth handoffs and operational readiness.
• Mentor and guide mid-level and junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Design and develop scalable backend services using Java 17 and Spring Boot 3, implementing microservices and cloud-native solutions.

What's Needed?

• 6+ years of backend development experience with Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.
• Proven experience in microservices architecture and cloud-native development.
• Strong knowledge of messaging queues such as RabbitMQ, Google Pub/Sub, or IBM MQ.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases like Postgres and MySQL.
• Experience with JUnit 5, Docker, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
