Our client in York Region, ON is actively looking for a Materials Analyst to join their team.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for inventory management of part numbers assigned, including optimization of inventory levels on the floor for a JIT environment, & on an ongoing basis reviewing the parameters to ensure optimization that the inventory levels as well as the supply of the components are in a timely manner
- Responsible for ensuring that cycle counts are done daily and submitted for approval. Cycle counts at the suppliers are done on a regular basis (weekly / bi-weekly) and submitted for approval with adequate analysis with detail explanation to the variance.
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity of inventory listed in CMI, including any follow-ups to resolve disagreements between physical inventory confirmations and CMI system
- For part numbers assigned, expedites purchased components, packaging items and subcontracted items to support production requirements (this includes both external and internal)
- Reviews and audits supplier releases on a daily basis
- Ensures that the releases are sent to all suppliers after MRP
- Ensures that all materials are on time (none early, none late) with the correct quantities to support production and ensures timely delivery to our customer; follows up all "past due” conditions on a daily basis and escalates any potential risks due to the past dues.
- Coordinates freight to suppliers (inbound / outbound) for responsible runs
- Reports problems which may affect production immediately to supervisor
- Follows up with the supplier and receiving department ensuring that the supplier has enough packaging to support our deliveries without interruption within the supply chain
- Evaluates / maintains supplier delivery performance
- Initiates via Buyers, supplier debit / credit notes for shipment discrepancies, excess freight charges
- Supports outside business hours as and when required which have a direct or immediate impact on production and / or customer
- Acts as backup within the Inventory Group whenever required
- Tier automotive experience is a must
- College Diploma in Supply Chain / Materials Management or equivalent
- Minimum years related experience in automotive manufacturing environment
- Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent math skills
- Computer literacy in MRP / ERP scheduling systems, purchasing systems & cycle-count systems, as well as business applications and web-based ordering systems.
- Familiarity with computer routings and Bills of Material
- Kanban experience
- Lean Manufacturing exposure
- Ability to function well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization
- Valid Class G Driver's License
- Familiarity with CMI / TRANSM software
- Knowledge of supplier qualification standards (TS-, QS-, ISO-)
- Knowledge of Import / Export procedures and Customs regulations
- Completed related CAPICS courses
- Automotive background (preferably Magna)
- Automotive manufacturing experience
